Barney Stinson, the womanizing best friend of the main character, finally meets his father in Season 6.
John Lithgow, of 30 Rock fame (and more recently as a extremely creepy serial killer on Dexter) steps into the role as Barney’s DRIVING INSTRUCTOR dad! That’s right! He even teaches a kind old lady on the show (after a night out with Barney on the New York town of course).
